About

I have been a Girl Scout since I was 5 years old and I am currently an Ambassador. In high school, Girl Scouts have the opportunity to earn their Gold Award, a take action project aimed at creating a solution for a community, national, or global issue. Being the highest award available to earn, the Gold Award challenges Girl Scouts to create a self-sustaining project with scaleable impact on top of 80 hours of work. I have been working since I was 12 years old and through my experiences, I have come to understand the independence, responsibility, and confidence that comes with having a job as a teenager. Since I have found so much value in working, I want to help teens experience those same benefits. I specifically want to help teens with disabilities feel prepared to navigate the job search and enter the workforce. Finding a job can be very overwhelming especially when you don't know where to start or if employers will recognized your ability and potential. I created this website in order to provide a central hub of resources to learn important basic information before getting a job and list businesses that are committed to inclusive hiring. My hope is that this website makes the process of finding and landing a job a little less overwhelming and helps teens with disabilities find meaningful employment, confidence in working, and a push towards the next step of independence.
